CAPITAL CONTROLS® Single Point Gas Detector, Series 1610B provides continuous detection of Chlorine, Sulfur Dioxide and Ammonia gas in a normally clean air environment. 
In General
CAPITAL CONTROLS® Single Point Gas Detectors are ideal for protection of personnel and property wherever Chlorine, Sulfur Dioxide or Ammonia is unloaded, stored or used.The sensor responds immediately to the presence of gas, and 
quickly recovers after the gas has cleared. The sensor is also designed to eliminate false alarms caused by interference gases and environmental conditions.Series 1610B design includes protection against radio frequency /electromagnetic 
interferences (RFI/EMI) typically present at industrial and municipal plants.
The modular design for the gas detector provides easy installation of the receiver and sensor module.

Series 1610B Single Point Gas Detector

Brief Specification:
The single point gas detection system for (Chlorine) (Sulfur Dioxide) (Ammonia) shall consist of an electrochemical type sensor (requiring no chemical additions), housed in a corrosion-resistant, NEMA 12 enclosure suitable for wall mounting. In the presence of gas, a current flow will develop and be transmitted through electrical wiring to the receiver. The maximum separation between the receiver and sensor shall be 1000 feet (305 meters).
The receiver shall process and display incoming signals from the sensor module, and be housed in a NEMA 12 enclosure suitable for wall mounting. The receiver shall contain the following components: a power switch and LED indicators for power and ready; setpoint alarm level, fieldset via push button on the front of the receiver and indicated by on the color bar graph by a flashing bar segment; an LED alarm indicator and annunciator with corresponding contact; an LED malfunction indicator with jumper-selectable manual or automatic reset relay contact; a RESET button for clearing alarm and malfunction circuits; a timer for sensor stabilization, and an LED bar graph display in the range of 0-10 ppm for Chlorine and Sulfur Dioxide; 0-50 ppm and 0-100 ppm for Ammonia. A 4-20 mAdc output signal shall be provided to transmit scanned levels.
The minimum detectable concentration of Chlorine or Sulfur Dioxide gas shall be 0.5 ppm by volume. The response time shall be 60 seconds for 80% of range to 10 ppm gas at 20°C, after stabilization. Protection shall be provided against radio frequency/electromagnetic interference typically present at industrial and municipal plants. The unit shall operate from a (120 Vac) (240) 50/60 Hz single-phase power supply. Battery terminals shall be provided for use in the event of a power failure. The gas detector shall be CAPITAL CONTROLS® Series 1610B.
An optional power backup shall be provided, with internal 18 Vdc battery and shall automatically provide power in the event of a power failure. No manual switching shall be required. The unit shall automatically and continuously recharge to supply maximum support to the gas detector and/or the remote indicator. The power backup shall be

Scrubber System is designed to neutralize a 1 Ton Chlorine Container at worst case leakage.  Constructed in fiberglass reinforced plastics. The proper corrosion barriers, resins, and cure systems are utilized to insure chemical resistance to chlorine, caustic soda and bleach at the elevated reaction temperatures present during the scrubbing operation. The Chlorine Laden Air in the Room is drawn into the scrubber by the Blower. Intimate mixing between the caustic solution and the gas occurs in the packed tower, resulting in the high scrubbing efficiencies required in the emergency gas scrubber.

Pressure Reducing Valves De nora

Specifications:
The CAPITAL CONTROLS® Series 71P11A Gas Pressure Reducing and Shut-Off Valve is a diaphragm-type gas pressure regulating valve designed for use on chlorine, sulfur dioxide and ammonia gas service. The valve is used in a gas dispensing system to prevent liquefaction of the gas by providing a controlled pressure drop in the piping system. Downstream pressure is regulated to a reduced value by adjustment of the control setting. If the downstream pressure exceeds the pressure at which the valve is set, gas flow will be shut off.
There are three models for use with a variety of control applications:

All models are constructed with materials resistant to corrosion from the gases being controlled. The valve body is constructed of ASTM A105 forged steel to meet the recommendations of The Chlorine Institute for Class IV piping. Valves use a self-centering ball stem with a soft TFE seat for positive shut-off.
The control setting for the manual and electric valves are made by adjustment of a 
mechanical adjustment screw that applies spring tension to the loading diaphragm. The pneumatically actuated unit is controlled by pneumatic or hydraulic pressure applied to the diaphragm.

Operation:
Gas at supply pressure enters the inlet connection and passes through the capsule assembly which houses the valve plug and seat. When the downstream pressure falls below the control pressure, the spring-loaded or pilot operated diaphragm opens the valve plug and gas flows through the valve entering the downstream piping at the outlet connection. When the downstream pressure 
exceeds the control pressure, the diaphragm permits the valve plug to seat and gas flow stops. The desired downstream control pressure should be determined by the type of gas being controlled. Should the downstream pressure exceed the control pressure setting, the diaphragm will move to close the valve, shutting off the gas flow.

VEGA Gas Chlorinator Vent Exhaust Gas Arrestor

The CAPITAL CONTROLS® VEGA™
is a disposable chlorinator vacuum regulator vent gas arrestor designed to treat occasional chlorine gas vent releases that may accompany Chlorine container changeovers and fouled vacuum regulator inlet valves. The field-tested VEGA™ prevents nuisance tripping of Chlorine room air sensor alarms; helps compliance with local, state and federal code restrictions against exhausting Chlorine fumes outside of a building; keeps the building free from Chlorine related acid corrosion. 
The VEGA™ is a 5 gallon (18.9 liters) HDPE disposable container of chemically impregnated alumina oxide 4 mm spherical beads designed to react on contact to convert the Chlorine to harmless landfill disposable salt. The solid reaction products are locked in the ceramic bead. This is the same media as used in the EST™ Type DES 3000 large one-ton and EST™ Type DSH 400 150-pound (68 kg) chlorine container scrubbers. Unlike carbon-based media used for the same purpose, the Type “STS” ceramic-based media carries no fear of combustion and has no need of neutralization prior to disposal.
De Nora Water Technologies recommends at least one VEGA™ per vacuum regulator vent. The manifolding of two or more regulator vents to a single VEGA™ is discouraged due to backpressure concerns. As designed, the VEGA™ has less pressure loss than an equal length of vent tubing. 
The VEGA™ is equipped with inlet and outlet chlorine colorimetric indicator strips. The white strips turn yellow upon exposure to chlorine gas.
The VEGA™ is also available with “PHD” media for use with Sulfur Dioxide (SO2). Colorimetric indicator strip not available with SO2.

The ejector is the heart of the system providing the vacuum necessary to operate the vacuum regulator. The diaphragm ejector is to be used in continuous feed applications.
The ejector/check valve assembly shall be of the chlorine water solution feed type and shall create the vacuum necessary to operate the system.

The ejector/check valve assembly shall be a spring-opposed, O-ring seal, diaphragm type. The ejector/check valve shall be suitable for 100 PPD/2 kg/h against a maximum back pressure of (Please Fill In psig). The springs shall be tantalum alloy.

Gas Filters MODEL 27886

  The De Nora Water Technologies gas filter is intended for the filtration of the gaseous phase of chlorine, sulfur dioxide or ammonia. It is recommended for use on a pressurized gas system with manifolded ton containers, bulk gas supply or downstream of a vaporizer prior to gas line regulators.
   The body is fabricated of ASTM Carbon Steel with ASME Class 300 forged steel large tongue cover flange. A removable 316 SS filter basket, containing three filter pads, is mounted within the filter body to trap the pipeline impurities before they reach the feed equipment.

   The filter is constructed with an open volume below the filter elements to trap any liquefied impurities that may have passed through the piping system.
  The De Nora Water Technologies gas filter is available in two options, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) certified for lethal substances and Non ASME certified. ASME certified units are designed and fabricated to meet the requirements of ASME, Unfired Pressure vessel code section VIII, Div 1, for lethal substances

Remote meter panel Model 480

The remote meter panel is designed to complement the Capital Controls® Model 480 vacuum regulators. When multiple chlorine gas feed points off the same vacuum regulator are required, a remote meter panel is utilized. Each remote meter panel is manually set, via the rate valve, to meter the proper amount of chlorine gas to the feed point. The combined gas feed rate from the remote meters must not exceed the total feed rate capacity of the vacuum regulator.

Flow meter NXT - 3000

   The meter assembly is designed to complement the Capital Controls’ Series NXT3000 vacuum regulators. The meter assembly is a variable area type meter and provides a visual indication of the gas flow rate set by the internally mounted manual rate valve. 
Remote meter panel.

   The rate valve is located at the meter outlet (top) and is sized to match the meter capacity.
   The capacity range of each flow-meter-rate valve assembly is clearly indicated by a calibrated scale, direct reading in pounds per day (lb/d) and grams per hour (g/h) or kilograms per hour (kg/h), etched on the flowmeter tube.
   The meter assembly on a gas feed system with an automatic Chloromatic rate valve assembly will have the rate valve knob glued in place on the outlet fitting.
   NOTE: When two-meter assemblies will be used in series, (one mounted on the vacuum regulator and one
remote mounted) one of the meter assemblies must be supplied as an automatic unit, without rate valve.
The second-meter assembly will be supplied as a manual unit with a rate valve.
